To the Honorable the justices of the Supreme Court next to be holden at Taunton within and for our said County of Bristol.

Respectfully libels and represents Sarah M. Corbett of North Attleborough in said County that she was lawfully married to Andrew O. B. Corbett, now of Norfolk, Norfolk County, Virginia, at Wakefield in the County of Middlesex and Commonwealth of Massachusetts on the fifteenth day of May A.D. 1872 and there afterwards your libellant and the said Andrew O. B. Corbett lived together as husband and wife in this Commonwealth to wit, at Wakefield aforesaid, at Boston in our County of Suffolk, and at said North Attleborough; that your libellant has always been faithful to her marriage vows and obligations but the said Andrew O. B. Corbett being wholly regardless of the same at said North Attleborough on or about the fifteenth day of June A. D. 1884 did utterly and willfully desert your petitioner and has continued said desertion from that date until the day of the date of this libel being a period of more than three consecutive years next prior to the filing of this libel.

Therefore your libellant prays that a divorce from the bounds of matrimony may be decreed between your libellant and the said Andrew O. B. Corbett and for such further order and decrees as to your Honors shall ___ meet and as justice may require. Dated this twenty first day of January A.D. 1888.

Signed Sarah M. Corbett

This libel was filed and entered in this Court on the twenty seventh day of January A.D. 1888 and now it is ordered that the libellant give notice to the said Andrew O. B. Corbett of the pendency thereof and to appear before said Court at Taunton within and for the County of Bristol on the first Monday of March next by causing an attested copy of her said libel with this order thereon to be published once a week three weeks successively in the Taunton Daily Gazette, a newspaper printed in Taunton in said County of Bristol, that last publication to be at least fourteen days before the said first Monday of March and in addition by sending an attested copy of said libel with this order thereon by letter, registered if practicable, to the residence of said Andrew O. B. Corbett, as set out in said libel that the said Andrew O. B. Corbett may then and there show cause why the prayer of said libel should not be granted.

On the twenty-fifth day of May A.D. 1888 it was proved to the satisfaction of the Court that the above order of notice had been duly complied with.

And now the said Sarah M. Corbett appears but the said Andrew O. B. Corbett though duly notified of the pendency hereof and thrice solemnly called to come into Court and answer the said libel doth not appear but makes default.

And now the materials facts to substantiate the charge of desertion set forth in said libel being satisfactorily proven to the Court it is now ordered on this twenty fifth day of May A.D. 1888 that a decree of divorce ___ from the bonds of matrimony be entered in favor of the said Sarah M. Corbett for the cause of desertion as aforesaid on the part of said Andrew O. B. Corbett to be made absolute on application of either party to the Court after the expiration of six months from the entry of this decree upon compliance with the terms thereof unless the Court has for sufficient cause on application of any party interested otherwise ordered.

The case was thence continued and on the twenty-seventh day of December A.D. 1888 it is ordered upon the application of libellant in said cause that said Decree of Divorce ___ become absolute.

Certificate issued Dec. 27, 1888.
